Southeast Milk Inc (SMI) is a milk cooperative servicing Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. SMI currently handles most of the milk marketed in the state of Florida. The growth of SMI rests upon the reputation for providing the highest quality product available at a cost that is fair and equitable to both the farmers and the processors who service the consuming public in Florida.

The SMI milk check-off provides funds for researchers on a wide range of projects aimed to improve the dairy industry. The work funded by the SMI check-off aims to improve calving rates in dairy cows by infusion of seminal proteins at insemination.

The Bromfield lab is grateful for the support of the SMI check-off.
