Seminal plasma increases birth weight of heifer calves

A new study reported by the Bromfield lab in collaboration with Dr Peter Hansen demonstrates that supplementation of seminal fluid at the time of AI in dairy cows results in an increased birth weight of heifer calves. We propose that changes to the endometrial environment by seminal plasma optimizes pregnancy outcomes and allows for maximal growth of heifer calves. Maybe these calves will also produce more milk?
