Semen components elicit changes in the endometrium

A new study released by the Bromfield lab, lead by Jason Rizo, demonstrated the role of seminal fluid and TGF-beta in mediating changes in the endometrium. We believe that these types of changes in the endometrium can help establish and maintain pregnancy. Interestingly, seminal plasma appears to by toxic to endometrial cells also. Maybe supplementing either seminal plasma or TGF-beta at the time of AI in cattle could improve fertility?
