Congratulations Rachel

We're proud to introduce Dr Rachel Piersanti. Rachel graduated with her PhD from UF in Decembers ceremony along with 5 other Department of Animal Science graduates. Rachel's thesis work centered around the impact of uterine disease on ovarian function in the dairy cow. Rachel used cows with spontaneous disease to describe long term impacts on granulsoa cell transcriptome, in vitro culture of oocytes to demonstrate the effects of bacterial components on embryo development and developed a unique and powerful experimental model of uterine disease in virgin Holstein heifers. Rachels work has currently been published in the Journal of Dairy Science, with additional papers to follow.
